Tuition
Fee 2012:
For a five day week, Monday-Friday, 9.30am - 5.30pm, lunch
included; party and visiting artist's lecture with evening
meal on Friday: £179.50. If booked before 31st March:
£169.50. This fee is payable to secure a place on
a course. The tuition fee is not
refundable unless a course is cancelled. Students are
advised to insure thernselves against being unable to
take up their place. Accommodation fee payable at end
of course.
The price does
not include materials or painting equiprnent, which students
are expected to bring, including outdoor easel, if needed.
There are three studios equipped with donkeys, easels,
boards, tables, folding chairs and still life props. Thin
cartridge paper may be purchased in the main studio for
drawing.
Telephone is not included in the cost. Those without transport
can be collected by taxi frorn Welshpool station. ARRIVAL
after 4pm Sunday for residents/9.3O pm Monday for non-residents.
How
to apply:
Please apply by letter. The dates for the two weeks in
July which we are running this year are listed below.
Give us your dates in order of preference. 2 weeks stay
is possible. It is important to let us know of any special
needs, including diet. If you come from abroad, please
give us the name and address of a friend or sponsor in
this country, or of your consul, in case of illness or
accident. An accommodation list, including Henllan Mill,
is attached.
SYLLABUS: The Syllabus for the Beginners' Course was approved
by The Keeper of the Royal Academy Schools, our former
patron, the late Peter Greenharn RA.
EXAMPLES OF YOUR WORK: I am interested to see-examples
of your work, especially sketch books, as this will help
assess what direction you need to take. Some painters
bring photographs or slides of their workbeing easy to
carry.
